CROWNS

A dental crown is one of the most common treatment to save a severely damaged tooth, whether it be from a tooth fracture, cracks causing sensitivity, or moderate-severe decay.

Crowns are fabricated with durable and biocompatible materials like porcelain, zirconia, gold, or a mixture of noble metals. After the tooth is cleaned it is then bonded over your prepped-tooth to add a layer of protection while sealing out bacteria.

Most importantly, it will look and feel like a natural tooth while restoring its health, function and appearance.

In some cases, it is used as esthetic treatment instead of dental veneers to cover unattractive features of teeth while providing beauty and strength to the tooth.

They can even be used for cosmetic reasons to cover dark tooth discoloration or to improve the size, shape, or appearance of a tooth.

They are also placed over root-canal treated teeth to restore its function and prevent fractures.

Crowns also offer preventive benefits, like saving a weakened tooth from breaking.

BRIDGES

If you’re missing one or more teeth, you may be already conscious of how those gaps in your smile affect your self-confidence, as well as your ability to chew.

Did you also know that your remaining teeth can shift due to the extra space, and if left alone for a long time it can alter your bite and potentially cause jaw problems or additional tooth loss.

A dental bridge is a prosthetic tooth/teeth that bilaterally attaches to adjacent teeth covered with dental crowns as a single unit. It is permanently joined together and will function just like your natural tooth/teeth.

TOOTH-COLORED FILLINGS

If you're constantly concerned about your smile due to decay or dark fillings in your teeth, you may be a great candidate for composite resins.

A silicon dioxide-filled, tooth-colored resin mixture, composite resins can reinstate teeth to a healthy and attractive condition.

Some of the other advantages include better insulation against temperature changes (less sensitivity), and the chemical bonding between the tooth and composite lowers the risk of tooth fracturing as compared to traditional silver fillings (amalgam).

Another significant feature of composite resins is that it allows better retention of your natural tooth structure as compared to amalgams (silver fillings). We are a proponent of conservative dentistry – the more natural tooth structure you keep, the healthier teeth you’ll likely have in the future.

PARTIAL & FULL DENTURES

They have been around for a long time, and like other dental technology, dentures have undergone much advancements in the materials and artistry that go into its creation, making them appear more lifelike and comfortable than ever before.

PARTIAL DENTURES

You would be a candidate to restore your smile with partial dentures if you still have remaining teeth.

Partial dentures can be made with metal framework (better durability and stability), or valplast material (no metal used, often more esthetic).

They have metallic or acrylic arms that clasp onto your remaining teeth for stability.

FULL DENTURES

You can still have a beautiful smile even if you lose all your teeth. Even though there are may be no teeth for the dentures to clasp onto like for partial dentures, with suction and adhesives, they can be kept secure in your mouth.

If you no longer have natural teeth left, you may feel that don’t need to see the dentist anymore. However, with time your dentures may no longer fit as well as they had in the past. You may be in need of a replacement denture or a denture reline in order to have the comfort back in your mouth.
